- <p> DIED. CATHERINE FILENE SHOUSE, 98, philanthropist and founder
- of the Wolf Trap Farm Park for the Performing Arts; in Naples,
- Florida. The heiress of a Boston retailing fortune, Shouse grew
- up in a house full of music and had long dreamed of creating
- a cultural park. In 1966 she donated 100 acres of her Wolf Trap
- farm in Virginia to the Federal Government to create a national
- park for the performing arts. Inaugurated in 1971, Wolf Trap
- is visited by 500,000 people annually.
